For our new Fundraising Development role, you will be a successful fundraiser, with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills. You will have experience securing Grants, Corporate, Public Sector, Community, Individual Donor and/or Legacy income and partnerships. You will be a persuasive and concise writer, with an ability to work to deadlines, and have excellent IT, online research and financial skills.
This flexible, homeworking role is initially for 14 hours a week for 6 months, from March to August 2023. Rate of pay is £18-20 an hour, depending on experience, on a self-employed basis. One of your first tasks will be to secure funds to extend the role.

We transform lives in York by enabling residents of all ages, abilities and life situations to walk, ride and connect with nature, and enjoy better health and wellbeing and quality of life. We support many vulnerable groups in the city, including care home residents, refugees and people with disabilities.

Fundraising Development Officer Main Responsibilities
1. Income Generation – Grants, Corporates, Public Sector, Community, Individual Donors and Legacies
You will work with the YBB Team to research, obtain supporting documents, draft questions, create budgets, edit and proof-read ongoing Grant funding applications.
You will create Corporate, Public Sector, Community, Individual Donor and Legacy offers and secure sponsorship, contracts, commissioning donations, and/or legacies.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Reporting
You will work with the YBB Team and participants to monitor and evaluate our work, gather evidence of impact, create stories of change and inspiring impact reports.
3. Partnerships
You will develop mutually-beneficial partnerships with local, regional and national organisations.
4. Other
You will work to an agreed Fundraising Development Work Plan with monthly targets, and provide a weekly email update. You will attend monthly review sessions to discuss progress against targets, either face to face or on a telephone call.
You will undertake any other agreed work within your capacity that will develop resilience and income for our organisation.
Fundraising Development Officer Person Specification
Experience in fundraising with a successful track record
Experience developing fundraising offers, and securing income and partnerships in at least 2 of the following areas – Grants, Corporates, Public Sector, Community, Individual Donors, and Legacies
Experience in monitoring and evaluation and creating persuasive stories of change and impact reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent, creative written skills – with an ability to influence and inspire, and be concise and accurate
Interpersonal skills – with an ability to build constructive relationships with a wide range of people
IT, online research and finance skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, with a high level of personal motivation and persistence
Willingness to walk, cycle or use public transport for travel during the course of your work
