About our Workshops
We run Social Bike Maintenance Workshops in partnership with local bike shops – Cycle Heaven, Giant York, Halfords, Get Cycling, Cyclestreets and CycleWorks.
The Workshops are relaxed and friendly and, would you believe, participants find them a lot of fun!
The session is led a member of the York Bike Belles’ friendly team and a bike shop mechanic. We cover bike safety checks, ‘roadside’ or ‘at home’ puncture repair, essential bike cleaning, lubrication, and adjusting brakes and gears if time.
We offer wine and refreshments (evening) and coffee and cake (during the day), with breaks to meet and get to know other participants. Somehow this makes puncture repair so much easier!
The sessions are free, but donations are welcome to cover the cost of the refreshments. Suggested donation is £10 per person. If you would like to donate, please bring cash at the workshop, or donate online.
