Experience the magic of nature along York’s Green Routes!
Coming soon …
“Take the Green Route!” is an original, collaborative project that will create a range of exciting and creative opportunities for York residents to enjoy, value and help improve nature along York’s Green Routes.
“Green Routes” are the walking and cycling routes along York’s natural green corridors – rivers, strays, nature reserves and other connected green spaces. These corridors are full of fascinating landscapes, habitats, trees, plants and wildlife!
The project will work in partnership with St Nicks and City of York Council and will involve many other local stakeholders including Growing Green Spaces, Treemendous York and Edible York. It will reach out in particular to those currently less likely to walk, cycle, or engage with York’s natural world, and involve Live Well York, Age Friendly York and York CVS Ways to Wellbeing.
We are in the process of applying for funding and aim to secure investment and start “Take the Green Route!” in early 2022.
